Menands is at a turning point.
We can settle for more of the same, or we can choose leadership that listens, shows up, and gets things done. I’m Bill Nevins, and I’m asking for your vote to bring fresh energy and proven experience to our Village Board.

I live in the same Menands home my grandparents built in 1934. My wife and I raised our triplets here, and as they head off to college this fall, I’m stepping forward to serve the Village that’s shaped our family for generations.
I’ve already served 10 years in public office, including as President of the Menands Union Free School District Board, where I’ve:
✔️ Championed transparency, holding public hearing,s and forming community committees
✔️ Delivered fiscally responsible budgets under the tax cap
✔️ Built real partnerships with residents, parents, and local leaders
✔️ Listened—and acted—when our community needed it most
Now I’m ready to bring that same commitment and accountability to the entire Village.

As Trustee, I’ll work for all of us—homeowners, renters, families, and businesses. Here’s what I’ll fight for:
🔋 Clean Energy
Promote hydroelectric power and pursue state/federal funding to power Menands sustainably.
🏘 Safe & Strong Neighborhoods
Maintain and expand public safety for families, seniors, and apartment residents alike.
💼 Local Business Growth
Cut red tape, support entrepreneurs, and strengthen our small business base.
🏠 Accountability in Housing
Protect the safety and dignity of the 1,300+ residents living in apartment communities.
📋 Smart, Transparent Governance
Revisit outdated policies, listen openly, and always keep you in the loop.
Why I’m Running
I’m not doing this to build a résumé. I’m doing this because I care. I’ve seen how responsive, honest leadership can improve lives—and I know how to deliver it.
