Dear Associate Commissioner Collins & OASAS Team

I am writing on behalf of the concerned citizens of Menands regarding Fusion Recovery’s proposed Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at 444 Broadway.

Fusion Recovery’s consultant, Ms. Shari Noonan, a former OASAS Commissioner, is a known entity to us. Her involvement has created apprehension about the potential for conflicts of interest and has added a layer of complexity to our community’s view of this process.

Despite the questionable approval of the 822 program, there remains significant opposition to the OTP among the residents of Menands. Furthermore, there are two existing OTPs operating within a five-mile radius of our location, raising concerns about redundancy and the actual need for another OTP.

Given these factors, we urge OASAS to reject any application from Fusion Recovery for OTP certification. We request OASAS’s full acknowledgment of the community opposition and thorough assessment of the existing resources in our area before making a decision that will greatly impact our community.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Charles Price
