Dear Commissioner Giordano, and County Executive McCoy
I am reaching out on behalf of the Menands community, expressing our concerns about Fusion Recovery’s proposed Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at 444 Broadway.
We note that Ms. Shari Noonan, a former OASAS Commissioner and now a consultant for Fusion Recovery, is involved in the process. Her participation has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, contributing to our community’s apprehension.
Despite the questionable approval of the 822 program, the proposed OTP has met with significant opposition from Menands residents. Adding to our concerns, we already have two operating OTPs within five miles of Menands, raising questions about the necessity of another.
We strongly urge the Albany County Health Department to reject any application from Fusion Recovery for OTP certification, considering the significant community opposition and the existing OTP resources nearby.
Thank you for considering our concerns.
Sincerely,
Charles Price
